Precautions in the use of mine wire saws

Diamond wire saw is a commonly used tool for mine cutting. In the actual application process, there are some matters needing attention, especially some matters will directly affect the cutting life and cutting efficiency of the wire saw. If the wire saw operator can master the operation skills proficiently, then the wire saw cutting and mining work can be better completed.

1.The cutting efficiency of the wire saw is closely related to the power of the equipment. Generally, the reasonable matching relationship between the length of the wire saw and the power of the equipment is 2 times. For example, a 55KW wire saw machine can be equipped with a 110m wire saw. If the power of the wire saw is low and it is equipped with an ultra-long wire saw (like small horse-drawn cart), the cutting efficiency cannot be achieved. In addition, the cutting power of the wire saw has a certain relationship with the hardness of the stone. The power of the wire saw for cutting granite is higher than the power of the wire saw for cutting marble.

2.Try to use the special guide wheel configured, which can not only reduce the cutting resistance of the wire saw, but also slow down the vibration. The erection position of the guide wheel needs to be determined by precise calculation and cannot be erected arbitrarily. While the number of guide wheels should be as less as possible under the condition of ensuring smooth cutting. Because the work of erecting guide wheels is troublesome and the workload is easy to increase.

3. The track must be laid horizontally, and there must be no bending deformation. Otherwise the walking gears will not be able to bear the force, the wire saw will idle without load and the current of the host will drop rapidly.



4.The rubber pads of the main flywheel and guide wheel which are seriously worn or cracked must be replaced in time, otherwise the wire saw will slip or vibrate violently. Horizontally pulling the bottom usually use a wire saw with a good opening. Because the hole is easy to accumulate water when cutting horizontally, and it is not suitable to sharpen the beads surface due to the large amount of water.

5. During the sawing process, the resulting saw seam must be tightly held up with steel wedges to prevent the blocks from collapsing or stress-deformed, pressing the ropes and clamping the ropes.

6. During the cutting process, the shaking state of the wire saw should be controlled at all times. If the shaking is large, the feed speed should be reduced. The wire saw shakes because the wire saw has no point of support. Generally, rubber tire pads are used, which can better keep the wire saw stable.

7. During the cutting process, workers need to ensure that the cooling water supply is sufficient, and add cooling water along the sawing direction of the wire saw. When the cutting surface is large, several water-adding stations can be set up at the corners and other positions. But the addition of excessive water will increase the load on the wire saw, causing the host current to rise. Therefore, it is necessary to control the amount of cooling water during the cutting process.

8. The downtime should not be too long in the middle processing to prevent the cracks in the rock formation from blocking the beads. Once the beaded rope is stuck, the rope should be loosened first, pulled manually. Workers also can do some measures according to the real condition.



9. The guide wheel is placed too wide or the guide wheel is not used, which may cause too little contact between the wire saw and the tape in the flywheel, causing problems such as slippage or rotation.

10. Generally, after 10 hours of continuous work, worker should stop the machine to check whether the joint of the wire saw is firm to prevent the rope from breaking.

11. Pay attention to safety at all times. Non-operators are not allowed to enter the working area of the wire saw, and operators must also take relevant protective measures.

12. After the machine is stopped, workers need to move the machine slightly forward to make the wire saw in a relaxed state, which can prolong the life of the wire rope.
