For medium diameter saw blades, trimming is the processing procedure in the later stage of stone processing, so the cutting requirements are very high. The main requirements are that the slab does not chip at the corners when cutting the edge, and the cutting line is straight. In addition, the cutting efficiency of the medium-diameter saw blade (the area of the saw blade to cut the stone per unit time) is relatively high, which puts forward very high requirements for the sharpness of the medium-diameter saw blade. The large-size saw blade cutting belongs to the rough processing stage in the stone processing process, and the requirements for edge chipping are not high. In other words, the cost of the diamond segment is more important, and there are higher requirements for the life of the segments. The sharpness is affected by diamond, such as the grade of diamond, the concentration of diamond and the proportion of diamond grit distribution, etc., all of which have a greater impact on the sharpness of diamond saw blades. Of course, ordered diamonds can also improve this very well. Therefore, at present, the best use of diamond cutting ability is the order saw blade. Although it is still in the period of continuous exploration, the existing finished products have a lot of improvement in sharpness and life compared with the traditional ordinary diamond medium diameter saw blades.

In the process of cutting stone, the medium-diameter saw blade is in a closed state when the diamond particles pass through the cutting area to cut the stone, and it is impossible to complete the cutting in such a state. Under that condition, it is required that the saw blade has enough scrap tolerant space when cutting, and this scrap tolerant space is provided by the exposure height of the diamond particles relative to the exposure height of the metal bond. If there is not enough scrap tolerant space during sawing, the effective cutting force of the saw blade on the stone will be reduced. The friction and wear of stone and scrap on the diamond abrasive grains and their metal bond increase, the cutting force increases and vibration may occur during the cutting process, resulting in the back and forth swing and beating of the saw blade. In such a case, the working conditions of diamond deteriorate rapidly, which will lead to the decline of the processing quality of the stone, and in severe cases, the stone cannot be cut at all. The diamond concentration of the segment of the medium diameter saw blade is kept at 20-35% is the best. So the purpose of cutting will not be achieved.
