The lifespan and effeciency of diamond segments

During the application of diamond circular saw blade, the diamond of segments can be work through the grinding, through the diamonds superhard hardness to grinding the stone. While diamond segments quality can be determine the performance of the circular saw blade, which mainly including two aspects ,lifespan and effeciency. In the sawing process, the service life is the length of time the segment is used. It is also the processing time of the saw blade when cutting the stone of the same material. The longer the processing time, the longer the life of the segments, otherwise, the lifespan are more shorten. The sharpness of diamond segments, most directly reflec on the cutting effeciency, the higher cutting effeciency of the saw balde, the more fast cutting of the stone, they all can adjust more higher no matter the feeding speed or sumping speed. Within a certain range, the good sharpness of the diamond segments, can cut more stone squares in the same time and save the labor cost. General speaking, the lifespan and efficiency of saw blade are two important indicators to measure the comprehensive performance of diamond saw blade and the segment.

So how to adjust the lifespan and effeciency of the diamond segment? We can look at it at five points.

First: the density of diamond segments, it is also  called the grit of the diamond powder, more rough grit, more better abrasion resistance, but effeciency not good. While the diamond powder with finely grained, will makes the diamond segments with bad abrasion resistance, but good in sharpness.

Second: the holding force of the metal bonded, if the holding force are very strong, the abrasion resistance of diamond segments will be good, lifespan will be better, while the effeciency cannot improve, but the holiding force of the metal bonded less strong, then the diamond powder can be exposed more fast, and in cutting stone process, will be more fast cutting but lifespan will be a little shorten.

Third: The concentration of diamond, if the diamond with high concentration. The holding force of diamond segments will be lower down, and the efficiency will be increase, but the lifespan of cutting will be decrease, if the diamond with relatively  lower concentration, it will be unable to cut, which may require multiple times sharp edge, but the advantage is that the life of the segment will be longer.

Fourth:diamond segment with layer or diamond segments without layer. Diamond segments with layer foces on form the groove of non-working layer in order to increasing effiency, while the segments without layer due to that without non-working layer, the lifespan will be more higher than the segments with layer.

Fifth: From the shape of diamond segments, diamond segments Tshape and R shape, usually lifespan will be a little longer, but the diamond segments with M shape, W shape, V shape, usually the effeciency will be higher.

It can be seen that the relationship between the life and efficiency of the diamond segment is mutually restricted, and the other is increasing. Generally speaking, the higher the sharpness of the formula under the same price system, the lower the wear resistance; on the contrary, the higher the wear resistance, the lower the sharpness. If you need a diamond segment with a higher life and efficiency, you need to bear a higher matrix cost and better diamond material cost.
