The tooth width of the diamond saw blade refers to the width of the diamond segment of the saw tooth part of the diamond saw blade, also known as the saw tooth width. This name is mainly used to distinguish the thickness of the diamond blank blade. In more daily names, the tooth width of the diamond saw blade can also be called the thickness of the saw blade. Due to the special properties of diamond, the diamond saw blade is hard but brittle, so it can only cut some hard materials. Most of the hard materials will generate powder during the cutting process, and almost all diamond saw blades have a situation where the tooth width is higher than the thickness of the blank blade.
The thickness of the saw blade is also the width of the diamond segment. When designing, it needs to be wider than the blank blade. The main purposes of this design are as follows:
1: k blade, the size range is 900mm-3500mm, the price of such large diameter saw blades is very expensive. If the width of the segment is too narrow, the saw blade will be worn during the long-term cutting process of the segment. The main manifestations are the wear of cutting residues, the wear of unbroken quartz or other hard substances. If used in this way for a long time, the service life of the blank blade will drop sharply, thus increasing the manufacturing cost.
2: Easy chip removal. During the cutting process of the saw blade, there will be a lot of stone chips. Under the scouring of the cooling water, these stone chips can quickly realize the role of chip removal in the gap between the blank blade and the stone, and avoid multiple cutting of chips, which can not only save the cutter head, but also achieve better cutting effect.
3: Easy cooling. With such a cutting gap, during the cutting process, the cooling water can quickly pass through the groove above the segment to fully cool all parts of the diamond. And in the actual operation process, it is found that the benefits of doing so can not only increase the cooling effect, but also appropriately reduce the amount of cooling water used. While saving water, due to the lack of lubricity of water, the friction strength between the segment and the stone can be improved, so in the cutting process, the cutting efficiency will begin to increase.
4: Saving material. The base material of the saw blade uses more alloy steel. If the thickness is reduced, the use of these materials can be significantly reduced, thereby saving costs. And with the development of science and technology, especially the progress of alloy steel technology, the thickness of the saw blade is developing in a narrower direction.
So how much is the width of the segment larger than the width of the blank blade?
1: For small saw blades (small cutting discs), the diameter of the saw blade is in the range of 105-230mm. If it is not a slotted blade, the width of the segment is generally 0.1-0.3mm higher than the width of the blank blade (here refers to the height difference of one side), this is OK.
2: For medium-sized saw blades, the diameter of the saw blade is in the range of 250-800mm, and the width of the segment is generally about 0.5-0.75mm higher than the width of the blank blade (here refers to the height difference of one side).
3: For large saw blades, the diameter of the saw blade is in the range of 900-3500mm. Generally, the width of the segment is about 0.75-2.5mm higher than the width of the blank blade (here refers to the height difference of one side).
