Prefabricated alloy powder is a kind of metal mixed powder that mixes the powder together to better help the segment form a more stable structure during the sintering process. Ususally, some manufacturers produce prefabricated alloy powder and directly wholesale to diamond segment manufacturers. First look at the benefits of this powder:
1.Precast alloy powder is finer. Pre-alloyed powder will make the metal powder finer. We all know that in this solid-phase sintering process, finer metal elements are easier to sinter, and the formed metal nodules have a tighter structure and higher stability. Because the alloy material is more stable, the holding force of the diamond is also higher when making the segment.

2.Prefabricated alloy powder materials are more abundant. The ratio of the segment is very complicated. So many metal materials and some non-metal materials need to be selected, which is very painful when batching. In order to reduce this work, and to make the metal materials simpler, the prefabricated alloy powder will be more detailed and idealized for all metal or non-metal components, and the content will be continuously adjusted. Tends to be more stable than the metal elements in the segments produced individually by the segment factory.

3.There are many more possibilities in the sintering process of prefabricated alloy powder. Although prefabricated alloy powder is more expensive. But during sintering, the various metal atoms form more metal alloys, creating more possibilities. Therefore, alloy powder often achieves some unexpected effects.

4.The prefabricated alloy powder is mixed evenly. The pre-alloy powder has almost no possibility of uneven mixing. Compared with traditional metal powder mixing materials, it greatly saves time and reduces the possibility of dust pollution in the air.

5. The stability of the metal bond produced by prefabricated alloy powder is also relatively high. With the above factors, prefabricated alloy powder is the future development direction of diamond segments. Because this powder greatly improves the stability of the segment. However, this method also has major problems at present. Here is a brief look at the disadvantages of prefabricated alloy powders and the inadequacies of this method:

1.The proportion of prefabricated alloy powder is very difficult to grasp. Sometimes, in metallurgy, changes in the proportion or composition of a certain metal can easily lead to large fluctuations in the function of the alloy powder. When it needs many types of metal powders, but a certain metal is out of stock, it is difficult to produce prefabricated alloy powders at this time.

2.Prefabricated alloy powder has higher requirements on the factory. In today's continuous competition of diamond tools, if a link of prefabricated powder must be inserted in the middle, the profit must be shared. So currently, the diamond segment manufacturers are unanimously excluded. Therefore, at present, only some manufacturers of prefabricated alloy powder are using and testing.

3.Although prefabricated alloy powder has improved the performance of the diamond segment, the strength of the improvement is limited. It has not formed a revolutionary change. At least we haven't seen that prefabricated alloy powder can change the future of the entire segment industry. On this basis, there is still a long way to go to improve the R&D efficiency and effectiveness of alloy powders.
In general, although the use of alloy powder for diamond segments has good results, it is still not realistic to replace the traditional production method of tool segments.
