Welding diamond segment is also a brazing method, the full name is high-frequency welding, which is mainly used for welding large-size segments and substrates. The welding process is mainly through wettability, porosity, inclusion rate, weld thickness and residual welding heat affected zone Parameters such as stress affect the mechanical properties of brazed joints. These parameters are mainly determined by pre-welding treatment, post-welding treatment, heating time, holding time, heating speed and solder properties. In the research process, the wetted area, porosity and shear strength are the main objects of investigation.

The wetted area mainly indicates that during the high-frequency welding process, the segment and the substrate need to be fixed with a welding wire or a solder sheet (hereinafter referred to as solder), and the welding wire and the solder sheet are mainly through high temperature, the solder begins to fully melt, and the segment and the substrate The liquid solder fully wets the soldering surface. The larger the wetted area, the higher the soldering firmness. On the contrary, the soldering firmness is insufficient. Therefore, during the soldering process, the solder must be fully melted. If solder paste and other materials are added, the required soldering temperature will be higher, and of course the bonding strength will become stronger. So how to control the welding temperature? Too high temperature will cause the solder to oxidize and directly form oxides, resulting in slag inclusion. The accompanying adverse effects include the surface of the segment and the surface of the substrate, and an oxide layer will also appear, which affects the welding firmness. Then the temperature is too low, the solder fluidity is not enough, there will be slag inclusion. The best situation is that during the soldering process, the temperature is moderate and the solder can be melted quickly without causing oxidation.

Heating time, also known as holding time. During the welding process, it is necessary to keep the welded base and segment for a certain period of time, which can increase the wetting area, discharge the air during welding, and leave slag formed in the solder. Discharge time. However, the holding time should not be too long, too much will cause the solder to oxidize, but it will reduce the wetted area, thereby reducing the firmness of segment welding.

Shear strength. The shear strength of a segment is actually whether the segment will fall off due to the impact generated by the stone and the saw blade during the cutting process. The shear strength of the segment is determined by welding and is mainly determined by three aspects:

1: The thickness of the weld seam. Generally, it is best to keep the weld seam at 1mm. The impact resistance and shear strength of the weld seam are the strongest. If the weld seam is too large, the stress will greatly affect the front end of the diamond segment.  Which causes the segment to fall off. If the weld seam is less than 1mm, stress will act on the saw blade, causing the saw blade to bend or segment structurally broken.

2: Welding heat-affected zone, the welding process requires high temperature to complete, the better the wetting area, the larger the welding heat-affected zone, and these parts will become extremely unstable, in order to reduce the area and influence of the heat-affected zone The use of solder paste and solder paste can significantly improve this situation.

3: Solder performance. At present, the common content mainly includes silver solder, copper solder and silver-copper solder. The price of silver content is high but the soldering is stable. The price of copper solder is low, but it is greatly affected by temperature. Neutralizing products are still in the exploration period.

All in all, the process of welding diamond segment is extremely important. Temperature, holding time, solder and other elements can affect the entire welding process, so we must be cautious.
